There will be a talk by Rob Allen, Professor of Social History, Te Ara Poutama Faculty Office, Auckland University of Technology on “The Social History of heritage and historical societies”. Professor Allen spends his working life balancing a love of social history with overseeing the hierarchies of university management. He is passionate about social history of the late 19th century which saw him help save historic Red House, home to British socialist, poet and designer William Morris.
