Mt Hobson Guided Walk

REMUERA HERITAGE – FEBRUARY 2010 MEETING

What: Walk with David Simmons up Mt Hobson.

When: Sunday February 21st 2010 from 10 am till 12 noon.

Where: Meet at the Remuera Road entrance to Mt Hobson at 10am.

Dave Simmons is a former ethnologist at the Auckland War Memorial Museum and author of Maori Auckland, a history of early Auckland. He will take us up Mt Hobson to talk about the history of Mt Hobson (Remuwera), the 1844 Maori feast, the old American base, the gardens and the use of the mount throughout its history.
